About Sustainable Ply
Sustainable Ply was created to rethink how sheet materials are made.
The construction and design industries rely heavily on materials like plywood and MDF, which are resource-intensive, heavy, and difficult to recycle. We saw an opportunity to take a different approach.
By replacing solid timber cores with a reclaimed cardboard structure, Sustainable Ply transforms waste into a high-performance panel system.
A different approach to materials
Our panels are built using a reclaimed cardboard core, engineered to deliver strength, stability, and usability while significantly reducing material use.
This approach allows us to:
- Reduce reliance on virgin timber
- Lower embodied carbon
- Create lightweight panels that are easier to handle and transport
The result is a practical alternative to traditional sheet materials, designed for real-world use.
From waste to structure
Unlike standard honeycomb boards, which are manufactured from new materials, our process focuses on reclaiming and re-engineering existing waste streams.
This gives Sustainable Ply a fundamentally different starting point:
- not manufacturing from scratch
- but transforming what already exists
Manufactured with renewable energy
Our workshop is supplied with on-site solar energy, helping to reduce the carbon impact of production.
This means our panels are not only made from lower-impact materials, but also produced using renewable energy where possible.
Built for real applications
Sustainable Ply is designed for:
- exhibition systems
- retail and display
- interior panels
- temporary structures
We focus on applications where weight, efficiency, and material impact matter.
Looking ahead
We are continuing to develop new material systems, improve performance, and scale production.
Our goal
To create a new standard for lightweight, low-impact panel materials.
